Vintage Notes
This growing year was very challenging for us, but with perseverance we achieved good quality fruit from the vine.

Vineyard Information
This exceptional Chardonnay vineyard was the subject of extensive research prior to planting. Charles Fournier and Guy DeVeaux, of Gold Seal Vineyards, planted this vineyard in 1972. Their research at several test sites over a number of years showed them the merits of the combination of soil, proximity to the lake, temperate climate, air drainage and direction of airflow at this particular site. The vines have flourished over the years, and produce lovely fruit that just wants to be enjoyable wine.

Winemaking Information
Harvested on September 27, 2013 at 22.5 Brix. Cold settled for 48 hours to reduce solids before beginning fermentation. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, using Rhone 4600, BRG and VL1 yeasts. Separate lots were blended before bottling to maximize the best characteristics of each lot. A small portion of this wine is from the barrel lots that will ultimately be the Reserve Chardonnay 2013.

Tasting Notes
This wine is lovely, with round, full notes of pear and ripe melon fruit. The bright fruit on the palate is delightfully crisp and elegant. Serve this wine with light style pasta, chicken or seafood dishes, Cobb and chef salads, and most Asian dishes.
